1 WHOLE YEAR!

Thursday, July 31 marks mine and X's one year annivesary! It's been quite a year, but I am so thankful for all that I have learned and for the love that X has for me. I posted quite a few pictures of X and I through the years...some fun ones! I hope you all enjoy! Xavier, I LOVE YOU!
I believe that X is 1 year in this picture!
Yes, this is me...all chubs! Lovin the do! Gangsta' boo playin ball. X played football and basket ball growing up and I was a swimmer! One of his first days of school!

I think we are like 14 or 15 in this picture. We are both 16 in this picture and we are at the Maroon 5 concert!
Mine and X's first REAL snow! He came to Utah for a week one time with the family and we had so much fun playing in the snow. Below, we were sledding down the mountain next to my Grandma's house and at the end of the trail there was a HUGE drop off that was fun to plop off of. Well, X decided to be cool and go on his stomach face first. He flew off the drop and landed in the snow (it was frozen and packed down pretty solid) face first. It was HILARIOUS and I'm sure it hurt the retard too! This picture just makes me laugh everytime I see it! (I'm not quite sure what I am doing...)I think we were both 16 in this picture, but I cannot remember what in the world we were doing besides the fact that I am trying to be gangsta.
We are 17 in this picture and just coming home from a Dave Matthews concert with my sister Kiara and some of her friends...FUN NIGHT!
17 years old...one Sunday after church. This picture is of the day we got engaged. X took me up to a gorgeous spot on Monte Sano Mountain and played a sweet slide show for me and then proposed! I was so irritated because it was muggy and rainy out and I had to leave shopping early to come and see what he needed...but I am glad I did!Our wedding announcement picture.Goofin off! My favorite picture of us.

I love this picture...it was right after we were married. Mom says you can really see the emotion in X's face.

Here's to one whole year and millions of memories!

Mormon Tuesdays

In our ward, we have a family who opens their pool up to the ward on Tuesdays to come and swim...this has been termed "Mormon Tuesdays". We've gone about 4 times this summer and have had a blast every time. Everyone brings snacks and drinks to share and we all just hang around and swim for a few hours...or the day. Chase "helping" Blaykli out of the pool.
Natalie...I've been informed that Blaykli is Chase's girlfriend...
Jump!Chase is too impatient to wait for anyone else.
And yes...this picture below is of Chase jumping off of a 4 foot wall into the water head first doing his "dive"...I almost peed my pants the first time because I totally wasn't expecting this but he thought it was pretty fun! Watch the video below to see it in action...

Chase has Caught the Reading Bug!

Just about every week we go to the library to check books out and play on the computer. At the beginning of the summer when we went, they were signing kids up for a summer reading program. The theme was "Catch the Reading Bug".
For Chase's age you had to visit the library 4 times and read at least 8 books...if you read at least 20 you got a special prize! I immediately signed Chase up for the reading program and we had no problem reading 20 books seeing as I usually check out about 15 for him everytime we go. I'm really such a sucker for children's books and I enjoy reading books to Chase. We usually read a book or two before bedtime. He loves to sit and listen to the books. Yep, Chase will actually sit still through tons of books...he loves them!
Anyway, this past week we completed the reading program. We read 20+ books and went to the library 4 times. At our last visit we turned in Chase's booklet and he recieved his awards! He got a stuffed lady bug, a coupon book (free chicken nuggets, free krispy kreme doughnuts, and more!), a certificate that says "Chase has caught the reading bug!", and a little medal to wear that says "I'm a bookworm"! He was quite excited (and so was I!) =)

PRETTY DANG GOOD COOKIE BARS!

You will need:
1 package yellow cake mix
1 can evaporated milk
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup butter, melted
36 Rolo Candies, halved (I actually used about 50 =))
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, milk, nuts, and butter. Spread half into a 9x13 pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes or until set.
Next, place the Rolos (cut side down) over the crust. Don't worry about setting them in nice rows, like I started to...it takes too long, so just place em randomly! Then, spread the remaining cake mixture over the crust and candies. Then, cook them for another 20 or so minutes or until they are golden brown. Cool and this is what you'll end up with! Yummy chewy caramel bars!! =)

Chase's first Joke...

We were driving home from Alabama the other day and I was eating a Laffy Taffy I had gotten at the gas station and read the jokes off of them to the family. Chase then decided to make up his first joke...

Q: Why did the strawberry cross the road?

A: To jump over the cars!

He asked and answered the joke just like you're supposed to and we all got a good laugh out of it! =)

The Cheese Robber!

So I am back to blogging...at least I am going to try my hardest to be better. We had family come and visit and I just got too far behind and I am totally stressed as to where I should start with all that I have to catch up on! Right now, it's late and Chase is fussy so the post is going to be short and sweet. But, I promise I will try my hardest to be back and catch up! (Just for you Carly!)

Can anyone guess who the masked bandit is?!

Chase has attempted to be sneaky lately...(notice I said attempted!) When you tell him no to stay out of the cereal or anything like that he "sneaks" into the pantry, fridge, etc. and tries to tip toe away with his prize. He's not very sneaky though. Today he tried to sneak away with some shredded cheese and we told him that he needed to put the cheese back. So, he did and shortly after came and held Mom up with his face masked and a water gun and said "Gimme the cheese!" He must have frightened mom because she gave him some cheese! What a little booger! =) (Lacey, the Spider Man mask has been a favorite of Chase's toys since he got it at Jack's birthday party!)
