First Week on the Job

Well, I just had my first full week of my new job. I work at Jenks East Intermediate School (5 and 6 graders) and an EIT (early intervention teacher). I pull kids who are far behind in there math class out each day for about 20 to 30 minutes and we get together and work on math, mainly multiplication. This is definately an interesting position for me because I really struggled with math in school, but I must admit...I am pretty fast at spitting my times tables, 0-12, out. So far I have loved my job. I hate the fact that I have to work and be away from Chase, but you do what you gotta do right? The hours and pay are great too. They will work out perfect once I start school in the spring. I have about 23 students and I take anywhere from 1 to 4 out at a time and we really have a good time together. The majority of my students are in the 6 grade. My first day I introduced myself to the students and I had a group of little black girls who started dancing and saying "oh yeah! oh yeah!" over and over again when they found out that they got to get out of class for a little bit with me. I know that this job will be challenging because I have some students who are really negative about this whole thing and working with me, because they don't think they need help, when really they do. Also, I have some students who are on the 2 and 3 grade math levels. I am honestly learning as much as the kids are, I tell you what, I need a refresher in math! Anyway, all in all i really like my job and I am excited to help these kids who are struggling to grow and learn. Oh, and Abby just thinks it's the coolest thing that I am there. She is quite the social one at school and all her little friends know me and say hey to me in the hall. She is the cool one because her older sister is working at her school. Haha. Today she pointed out the boy that she likes to me, and he is quite cute!

Sorry...i just had to post this...

We were watching the Lion King for the second time today and it was in the previews. One of the first previews is of Pochahontas (i don't know if i even spelled that right) here is mine and Chase's conversation that took place:

Mommy: Oh, I love the movie Pochahontas.
Chase: No, it's my moo-bee.
Mommy: Oh be quite, you have never even seen it.
Chase: Yes, I wike Pokie-honkies.

I just laughed and laughed at how he said Pochahontas. I told mom this and she asked Chase what pokie-honkie was and he simply replied "boobies."

Boys...

I am super excited--we are headed off to New Mexico tomorrow for a week and some yummy Grandma Haynie cookin! Happy Thanksgiving!

Chase's New Found Love

The other day, Chase went through all of our old Disney movies and found The Lion King and we have watched and watched and watched this movie. My son is such a couch potato. Yes, he is sitting in a suit case, by his own will. I was packing to go to New Mexico and he got himself all cozy in the suitcase with his "kinky's"(yes, that is what he calls his blankie...kinky...) and The Lion King.

A little while later...

Chase's Dream

The other day, Chase woke up and told us about the dream he had had that night. X, Mom, Chase, and I were all sitting down for breakfast and Chase all the sudden said, "there's a tiger in Papa's truck!" And then he proceeded to tell us, "and he bite my foot!" Earlier that morning, he had woken up at 5am and came and climbed in bed with X and I, so I can only put two and two together and conclude that he had had a bit of a bad dream about a tiger in Papa's truck and woke up because he was scared, then came and climbed in bed with us. It is just too cute that Chase, a 2 year old, could actually tell us about his dream.

Another quick thing...anytime Chase gets into something and I have to say "Chase, no!" he always responds, "I just kidding mommy, just kidding." and then he will proceed to try and sneak what he is doing and I will have to say no again he will respond in a whisper, "shh mommy, stop it." Too silly.

FALL!

we have never been able to do this before because we have never had HUGE trees all over our yard like we do here. as dad and x raked up piles of leaves, chase had a great time jumping in the piles of leaves and then raking, or at least attempting to rake, the leaves back into the pile to jump in. this little man is so care free and fun. i love to watch him in his easygoing way of life. he thought it was the funniest thing to hide in the pile of leaves too. with his curly hair, he had leaves and twigs tangled in it everywhere! ps...sorry the video is a little shaky, it is hard to record on my camera because it is so small! but still...enjoy! and you have to watch it all the way through...it gets a little shaky for a minute while i try to get chase to jump instead of rake, but then chase talks to the camera and of course it is too cute...and just for the record i have been told for the past few days that i am a stinky turtle and sometimes i get lucky and get to be a stinky duck. =) x gets lucky and is called diego and lexi is alicia (diego's sister) and then everyone else ends up being abigail. x has been calling chase abo just being silly and chase freaks out and says NO! i not abo...i chase! and then chase got the idea to name everyone else...and i got the best name of all...a stinky turtle/duck.

friday

On Friday, X and I babysat for a couple in our ward. They have the cutest little girl, Blaykli, who is 19 months old. She was so good. She wasn't so sure of X, anytime he tried to hold her she would start to cry and reach for me. Chase had a blast with her. He followed her around and called her Kiki. Isn't she just too cute with her glasses? We picked her older brother up from school. His name is Jaxton and he is 5. He definately has lots of stories. He had fun showing me dances that his daddy does. haha, it was too funny. We took all three of them to the park and had a fun time!
That night, of course, we went to a high school football game. High School football is HUGE here. Jenks, the school all the kids go to, has one of the best football teams. They are way good and fun to watch play. In the first picture is the athletic building...in there they have a huge decked out gym for the athletes with like big screen tv's and everything. During half time X and Chase ran out onto the field and played a little footbal together. It was fun to see Chase "hike" the ball and try and throw it. Who knows...maybe he will be pro one day?!

just a few random pictures from our day...

Every morning (well at least we try to make it every morning) we either go walking/running or bike riding and before we leave Chase has to have his "ogurt". This little man lives for these things. This is just a picture I took of Chase this morning ready to go and eating his 'ogurt.
Breakfast time...my two boys! We had playgroup today at Pottery Barn Kids...they had a sing-a-long. I don't think it is possible for us to make it on time to anything, so we were there for the last two songs they sang, but Pottery Barn Kids is an awesome store. We ended up staying for almost an hour because they had things set out everywhere to play with and I really enjoyed walking around the store and getting ideas. Chase chose to play with the vacuum, shopping cart, ironing board, and make up set rather than play with the balls with Jack...it was quite funny and X was mortified. X had a fun time reading the kids books too! Enjoy the next few pictures!

We took a stop at the park today because it was so pretty out. Chase LOVES to swing!

And, lastly, we were at the library. I was inside with Mom and Abby looking for books while Chase and X were outside. Chase decided to pick Mommy some flowers...=)

perfect day in the park!

today we went to the park with lacey, jack, nolan, lacey, and riley. x grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and we had a yummy yummy lunch. they boys had so much fun playing together, although they were mainly interested in their dump trucks, rather than each other. x had just as much fun as the three boys. lacey called him the serrogate (sp?) dad. he swang with them all and had fun chasing them all around the park...you'd think he was 2! lacey m and i started this little outing about a month ago and have really enjoyed letting the boys go to the park and get all dirty. today, we had lacey c come with her 2 boys and we really had a good time. it is nice to let all three boys run wild while we visit together along with mom and x. the three boys are all the same age and us three lacey's have a lot in common!

okay and lacey carney just had a little boy and it is just eating me up! i want another little one so bad and anytime i am with lacey i have to steal nolan from her! he is just too precious!

my two sweet boys

the other day mommy was having a rough day...being grumpy when i probably shouldn't have been. but daddy gave mommy a break and took chase to the park. after they played for a little while they came home with a special surprise! i am so lucky to have two wonderful boys that love me no matter how grumpy i am!

too sleepy to play

The other day, Chase begged and begged me to let him play eeh-poh (play-doh). After hesitating because it was getting late and not wanting to clean up the mess he usually makes with it, I gave in. I set him up to the table to play and came to work on my blog. After about 15 minutes, I noticed it was very quite. I asked Abby to look in the kitchen to see if he was okay and she just busted out laughing. X and I got up to see and this is what we found...

I guess playing play doh can really wear a kid out!

Go, Diego, Go!

Okay, so this is my last post today...i promise. (if you haven't yet, go down and read the other 200 posts i just did). Chase was, of course, Diego for Halloween. He told me all day long that he wanted to go happy halloween. (trick or treating) It was so cute the first few times, but after so many times of hearing him wanting to go happy halloween I was relieved when it came time to go trick or treating. Chase actually understood a little bit more about what was going on and had a great time. The weather was perfect...cold, but not too cold and it was windy...kinda spooky. We took Chase to one house we happened to spot in another neighborhood one day while turning around that had a scary house in the front yard. For the past few weeks at Sam's club they have had a blow up haunted house on display that you could walk through and EVERY time we go to Sam's, Chase begs us to take him through the scary house. He gets scared, but I also think he likes it...i believe he gets a thrill out of getting scared. Anyway, we took Chase to the scary house and that made him quite happy. We had a fun Halloween!
